That's horrible! I'm really quite disgusted that they would say something like that. If a child loves something, the parents should be supportive! Hell, I used to spend all my spare time drawing, even in class. It frustrated my parents like you wouldn't believe, but a least they took an interest in what I was doing! They pointed out that drawing in class or doing that when there were other things to be done was a bad thing (if they caught me ) but that when the time and place was there, go for it.
I really hope things work out for you.

You shouldn't feel horrible about drawing unless it's keeping you from doing something important. I would also like to point out that you are old enough to make decisions yourself, but if this is the decision that you are willing to take then good luck.
